Old-school MMORPG players listen up: Final Fantasy XIV is getting a revamp. In less than a month, the game will be relaunched and things are looking great. Some might remember the 1.0 version which tanked to the point of tarnishing the entire franchise – a heavy blow after the long-running success of FFXI. Now they’re set to rectify that by re-releasing the entire thing. Definitely a first in the world of MMOs (not counting the ‘F2P transitions’ that nowadays seem so common). If you’re curious about what classes are available for the game, you can check out ffxivarrclasses.com. For some leveling and general advice there’s ffxivarrguide.com. General stuff like forums, wallpapers, etc. can be found on the official site at na.finalfantasyxiv.com.
When I first had the chance to test out SWTOR, you can imagine how taken back I was at the grandness of the game. That is, not just how the landscapes looked or the amazing gameplay, but I was somewhat on information overload. To start off, I spent an extremely long time on character creation. There were so many classes (and further advanced classes to specialize into later on in the game) and races to choose from. I had so many questions like, what skills will I be getting if I choose the Mercenary? What about the Gunslinger?
Then there was all the space combat fun and the ability to manually manage a set of crew with an entire library of crew skills separate from that of the main character. Not to mention the highly sophisticated crafting system and of course datacrons. I was literally pulled into the concept of matrix cubes and the possibility to mold your own extra bonuses and stats.
As soon as I went offline, the next thing I did was browse the net for information. There were alot, in forums, blogs, etc but they were somewhat things that I already knew. There was one particular unofficial guide I came across and was hesitant to purchase at first given I’m not really a guides gamer, but with what SWTOR has to offer, I went ahead with my very first game guides buy ever.
What I discovered? The manual was perfect (at least for me). There were information on all the various aspects of the game. The writer actually made it a point not to make the guide just a book full of facts, listing and descriptions but it was like reading a story with recommendations and the writer’s own insights to play more effectively. I can definitely say that the strategies and recommendations made by the writer are rather unique compared to the publicly available content. For any of you fellow gamers out there who are also on the look out for a SWTOR guide, I whole heartedly recommended the Killer Guides Unofficial SWTOR Guide.
Saw other class guides on their site, but have so far only gotten the strategy guide. When I get the chance to look at the class manuals, will be letting you know how I find them here at SWTORclasses.net.

Ever try use strategies to find out somehow they just aren’t working? Even more frustrating when you see others with the same strategies, but they actually end up having success. Did some light reading and searching online and was glued to this site called Vivisguides.com
I thought the design looked really great and seems like Vivian, the guide writer also did quite a good job on explaining what was inside the guide. Some really convincing text I must say. After a few minutes of studying, I bought the guide.
The strategies Vivian came up with and shared in the guide really worked wonders. Leveling was the best part for me. The tips there gave me that extra push I needed to climb the last few levels quickly and hit level 50.
Vivi’s Guide isn’t only all about strategies. With all the details on matrix cubes and the complete skills breakdown, decision making becomes very easy and effective for me all the way through. No more blind decisions, no more wasted playtime, no more regretted spends and absolutely no more struggle with the learning curve.
Two thumbs up!

Star Wars the Old Republic (SWTOR) is the works of Bioware and LucasArts. The massively multiplayer online roleplaying game (MMORPG) is based on the big screen film Star Wars. The timing of the story in the game is before the time of Anakin and Luke Skywalker. SWTOR’s theme works around two of the larger alliances, the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire. The war and battles between these two alliances influence many events in the galaxy such as the formation of smaller alliances and the clash between the Jedi Order and the Sith Lords.
SWTOR features eight classes. Four of which allies with the Sith Empire and the other four with the Republic. The eight classes are based on actual characters that fans of the Star Wars movie are familiar with. There’s the Jedi Consular, Jedi Knight, Smuggler, Trooper, Sith Inquisitor, Sith Warrior, Imperial Agent and Bounty Hunter. Here’s a short SWTOR guide to the classes, for more in-depth details about each of the classes, check out our other SWTOR class articles and stay tuned for more SWTOR guide and articles which will be made available soon.
The Republic Trooper is a ranged class that uses firepower and flamethrower type weapons and gadgets to deal damage. The Trooper is usually heavily armored. On the other hand, the Smuggler prefers light clothing and makes use of stealth and agility to survive harsh situations. The popular Jedi Knight uses the lightsaber to deal both melee and ranged damage. The Jedi Consular uses the force like the Jedi Knight but is also adept to using the force for political negotiation and foresight.
The Empire’s smuggler is the Imperial Agent; also a stealth-based class that uses lots of gadgets. The Bounty Hunters are corresponds to the Republic’s Troopers. The Bounty Hunters are a ranged class and uses rockets, grenades and the similar to deal damage. The Sith Warrior, similar to the Jedi’s are capable of using the force to deal critical damage. The Sith Inquisitor uses a double-bladed lightsaber and is the support class of the Sith Empire.

The class is also known for their ability to convert the Force into lightening which can either destroy or stun enemies. The Sith Inquisitor wields either a Lightsaber or manipulate the Force lightening itself, barehanded.
The SWTOR Sith Inquisitor dress themselves in robes of dark colors. Their preference for dark color is to reflect their authority and ambitions. In other words, their attire reflects the dark upper-class sophistication. Despite the appearance of the robes, the Sith Inquisitors are agile in combat.
Armies of the Republic rarely make if out alive if they were unlucky enough to end up fighting near a Sith Inquisitor on the battlefield. Their use of the Lightening Force lets them transfer life to ailing allies. The SWTOR Sith Inquisitors are also often seen with a double-bladed Lightsaber.
