Upcoming release of FFXIV: A Realm Reborn

Comments Off, Uncategorized, by J. Webb.

Old-school MMORPG players listen up: Final Fantasy XIV is getting a revamp. In less than a month, the game will be relaunched and things are looking great. Some might remember the 1.0 version which tanked to the point of tarnishing the entire franchise – a heavy blow after the long-running success of FFXI. Now they’re set to rectify that by re-releasing the entire thing. Definitely a first in the world of MMOs (not counting the ‘F2P transitions’ that nowadays seem so common). If you’re curious about what classes are available for the game, you can check out ffxivarrclasses.com. For some leveling and general advice there’s ffxivarrguide.com. General stuff like forums, wallpapers, etc. can be found on the official site at na.finalfantasyxiv.com.

SWTOR Guide Review

Comments Off, SWTOR Guide, by J. Webb.

When I first had the chance to test out SWTOR, you can imagine how taken back I was at the grandness of the game. That is, not just how the landscapes looked or the amazing gameplay, but I was somewhat on information overload. To start off, I spent an extremely long time on character creation. There were so many classes (and further advanced classes to specialize into later on in the game) and races to choose from. I had so many questions like, what skills will I be getting if I choose the Mercenary? What about the Gunslinger?

Then there was all the space combat fun and the ability to manually manage a set of crew with an entire library of crew skills separate from that of the main character. Not to mention the highly sophisticated crafting system and of course datacrons. I was literally pulled into the concept of matrix cubes and the possibility to mold your own extra bonuses and stats.

As soon as I went offline, the next thing I did was browse the net for information. There were alot, in forums, blogs, etc but they were somewhat things that I already knew. There was one particular unofficial guide I came across and was hesitant to purchase at first given I’m not really a guides gamer, but with what SWTOR has to offer, I went ahead with my very first game guides buy ever.

SWTOR Game GuideWhat I discovered? The manual was perfect (at least for me). There were information on all the various aspects of the game. The writer actually made it a point not to make the guide just a book full of facts, listing and descriptions but it was like reading a story with recommendations and the writer’s own insights to play more effectively. I can definitely say that the strategies and recommendations made by the writer are rather unique compared to the publicly available content. For any of you fellow gamers out there who are also on the look out for a SWTOR guide, I whole heartedly recommended the Killer Guides Unofficial SWTOR Guide.
Saw other class guides on their site, but have so far only gotten the strategy guide. When I get the chance to look at the class manuals, will be letting you know how I find them here at SWTORclasses.net.

Vivis SWTOR Strategies

Comments Off, SWTOR Advanced Classes, SWTOR Guide, by J. Webb.

vivis guide
Ever try use strategies to find out somehow they just aren’t working? Even more frustrating when you see others with the same strategies, but they actually end up having success.  Did some light reading and searching online and was glued to this site called Vivisguides.com

I thought the design looked really great and seems like Vivian, the guide writer also did quite a good job on explaining what was inside the guide. Some really convincing text I must say. After a few minutes of studying, I bought the guide.

The strategies Vivian came up with and shared in the guide really worked wonders. Leveling was the best part for me. The tips there gave me that extra push I needed to climb the last few levels quickly and hit level 50.

Vivi’s Guide isn’t only all about strategies. With all the details on matrix cubes and the complete skills breakdown, decision making becomes very easy and effective for me all the way through. No more blind decisions, no more wasted playtime, no more regretted spends and absolutely no more struggle with the learning curve.

Two thumbs up!

SWTOR Advanced Class Guide

Comments Off, SWTOR Advanced Classes, SWTOR Guide, by J. Webb.

Star Wars the Old Republic (SWTOR) is the works of Bioware and LucasArts. The massively multiplayer online roleplaying game (MMORPG) is based on the big screen film Star Wars. The timing of the story in the game is before the time of Anakin and Luke Skywalker. SWTOR’s theme works around two of the larger alliances, the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire. The war and battles between these two alliances influence many events in the galaxy such as the formation of smaller alliances and the clash between the Jedi Order and the Sith Lords.

SWTOR features eight classes. Four of which allies with the Sith Empire and the other four with the Republic. The eight classes are based on actual characters that fans of the Star Wars movie are familiar with. There’s the Jedi Consular, Jedi Knight, Smuggler, Trooper, Sith Inquisitor, Sith Warrior, Imperial Agent and Bounty Hunter. Here’s a short SWTOR guide to the classes, for more in-depth details about each of the classes, check out our other SWTOR class articles and stay tuned for more SWTOR guide and articles which will be made available soon.

The Republic Trooper is a ranged class that uses firepower and flamethrower type weapons and gadgets to deal damage. The Trooper is usually heavily armored. On the other hand, the Smuggler prefers light clothing and makes use of stealth and agility to survive harsh situations. The popular Jedi Knight uses the lightsaber to deal both melee and ranged damage. The Jedi Consular uses the force like the Jedi Knight but is also adept to using the force for political negotiation and foresight.

The Empire’s smuggler is the Imperial Agent; also a stealth-based class that uses lots of gadgets. The Bounty Hunters are corresponds to the Republic’s Troopers. The Bounty Hunters are a ranged class and uses rockets, grenades and the similar to deal damage. The Sith Warrior, similar to the Jedi’s are capable of using the force to deal critical damage. The Sith Inquisitor uses a double-bladed lightsaber and is the support class of the Sith Empire.

For a more in-depth insight into SWTOR Advanced Class Guide, please refer to this SWTOR Complete Guides Bundle.

This is one Star Wars the Old Republic class that is centered around treachery and manipulative skills. The SWTOR Sith Inquisitor rank is attained only by the best acolytes who have successfully mastered the art of exploiting enemies such as sucking the life out of them and transferring it to allies. The class is also known for their ability to convert the Force into lightening which can either destroy or stun enemies. The Sith Inquisitor wields either a Lightsaber or manipulate the Force lightening itself, barehanded.

The SWTOR Sith Inquisitor dress themselves in robes of dark colors. Their preference for dark color is to reflect their authority and ambitions. In other words, their attire reflects the dark upper-class sophistication. Despite the appearance of the robes, the Sith Inquisitors are agile in combat.

Armies of the Republic rarely make if out alive if they were unlucky enough to end up fighting near a Sith Inquisitor on the battlefield. Their use of the Lightening Force lets them transfer life to ailing allies. The SWTOR Sith Inquisitors are also often seen with a double-bladed Lightsaber.

There you go, a short guide to the Sith Inquisitor. For more detailed content and gaming strategies, check out SWTOR Inquisitor Guide.

Here’s an overview of Imperial Agent Guide. For more information and gameplay recommendations, check out this SWTOR Imperial Agent Guide.

The Imperial Agent is a SWTOR class that sides with the Sith Empire. This class is depicted as assassins who are best at infiltrating the enemy’s system. In other words the SWTOR Imperial Agent are the intelligence, the spies of the Dark Forces.

SWTOR Imperial Agent

It is difficult to identify these Imperial Agents given that they can disguise themselves easily, constantly changing their appearance. It is possible that your best friend is infact a spy of the Sith Empire. The SWTOR Imperial Agents dress themselves in armors that have lots of high tech gadgets, especially for communication purposes. The class is known to attack from far, thus a ranged class that makes use of high-tech weaponry to deal damage.

There are two specializations available for gamers, the sniper and the operative. The main class abilities of the operatives are their disguise, stealth and ability to take down enemies in close quarters. The Imperial Agent sniper on the other hand is a ranged class and eliminates enemies from afar. The starship for Imperial Agents is the X-70B Phantom. These ships are designed with technology customized for the spies such as high-end navigation systems.

The SWTOR Sith Warrior‘s main task is to destroy the republic and succeed in the domination of the Sith Empire. Opposite to their counterpart Jedis, the Sith Warriors has plans to rule via intimidation. These warriors are basically overlords who lead the Sith Empire’s army in battles against the armies of the Republic.

The Star Wars the Old Republic Sith Warriors, although brutal and deadly on the warfront are highly obedient to their masters. As such, the accept nothing less than absolute obedience from their followers as well. This may come as a surprise to both allies and enemies who have seen these warlords on the battlefield.

SWTOR Sith Warrior Sabers

The main reason why the Sith Warriors are against the Republic is because of their hatred for the Jedi Order. This is what fuels the Sith Warrior to engage in victories battles with nothing less than pure fury and brute force. These warrior of the dark side either fights with two lightsabers or without depending on their preference. When going into battle, the Sith Warriors dress themselves in armors that have been experimented on to increase strength or so as oppose to the traditional heavy armor.

The class sees two specializations: the Juggernaut and the Marauder. The SWTOR Juggernaut are known for their stamina with abilities to drain energies from enemies to fuel their own. The Marauder warrior on the other hand are known for their accuracy when attacking thus dealing huge amount of damage with minimal strikes. The Sith Warriors’ starship is the Fury. The Fury is designed especially for battle and has one of the most advanced hyper-drives.

If you’re looking for more than preliminary info, this SWTOR Sith Warrior Guide is recommended. The manual is also available as part of a SWTOR Complete Guides Bundle; further recommended for serious SWTOR gamers.

Below is an overview to Bounty Hunter. More detailed content and coverage of the topic could be found in this SWTOR Bounty Hunter Guide.

The Sith Empire has a desire for ultimate domination at all expense. They thus offer lots of rewards for hunters to do their bidding. These hunters are depicted as the SWTOR Bounty Hunter class in the game. The Bounty Hunters should however not be mistaken as mercenaries for hire; they are much deadlier than that. With unmatched abilities to track their targets, if you are on the wanted list, you can count on it that the Bounty Hunter will eventually find you.

SWTOR Bounty Hunter

As a Bounty Hunter, you would have to realize that living as one means either infamous glory as the one to assassinate that important character without anyone knowing who you are or instant death in the process. The Star Wars the Old Republic Bounty Hunters travel either alone or in groups. They are however free spirits that can rarely be tracked down themselves. These characters are known to roam throughout the galaxy, every nook and cranny to sniff out where there targets are hiding.

The SWTOR Bounty Hunter is equipped with high-end protective gear. These are heavy armor that are alto flexible, allowing the Bounty Hunter easy movement. The Bounty hunter’s weapon is the blaster, of course, only the best that is. These hunters are also known as Jedi Killers. As it is usually the skilled Bounty Hunter that can take down a Jedi.

The SWTOR Jedi Consular class is all about wisdom and vision. In order for the Republic to survive, they need their visionary leaders, who indeed are the Jedi Consulars.
